This looks likeUncharted, but in a setting I actually like. I love Uncharted, but the Treasure Hunting setting is not my thing.

I just hope, unlike Uncharted's, that this doesn't end with some random super power villian that can take over the world using some magic dust.

I've seen no mention of a villain.  If there's anyone you run into consistently it'll probably be some bandit leader that you keep killing his guys, but even that I'm not sure about.  ND might just go with the world being the antagonist.
