All PS3s are backward compatible with PS2 software.

This isn't just for piracy sake, most the PS2 classics are absolute rubbish. I mean the titles available don't make any sense at all. I'm quite partial to a bit of 2 player puyo pop fever on my PS2 for some drunken fun and laughs. Now I can play that on my PS3.
