My thoughts exactly. Sure, MS fans will downplay these negatives, but once the word is out in the general public, many will stay away from the NeXbox. Especially if they block used games, then Gamestop will not be pushing the system.

What negatives? Not even block used games mentioned in this rumor XDK

it mentions that it wont support playing on disk , so disks are only used for installation , that means its a lot like PCs , you have to enter a serial key, which means no used games.
|
Is that a new restriction? Because I've bought and sold used PC games before (and more recent ones at that). I know you can't have two active serials at once (obviously) but once you uninstall the PC game from your hard drive someone else can buy/borrow it and install it onto their computer.

I read somewhere that the CD key would be encoded on the disk. So once you put in a disk the console, it will read it then link to your account. So it'll work pretty much like Steam. Put in a disk, activate game. Install. Now the game is linked to your account, it will not be usable outside of your personal account. Except now the disk is a coaster for everyone but you.

That would make sense considering the mandatory installs but I'm not going to jump to conclusions considering these are all just rumors (I certainly hope that's not true).
The only way I'd be fine with that is if they had digital game sales much like Steam. If they went that route I'd be perfectly fine with it.

But the doc not even mentioned that
