My thoughts exactly. Sure, MS fans will downplay these negatives, but once the word is out in the general public, many will stay away from the NeXbox. Especially if they block used games, then Gamestop will not be pushing the system.

What negatives? Not even block used games mentioned in this rumor XDK

it mentions that it wont support playing on disk , so disks are only used for installation , that means its a lot like PCs , you have to enter a serial key, which means no used games.
|
Is that a new restriction? Because I've bought and sold used PC games before. I know you can't have two active serials at once (obviously) but once you uninstall the PC game from your hard drive someone else can buy/borrow it and install it onto their computer.

what games exactly? most games have serial keys activated through account.

Well I haven't bought any used PC games for a while but I bought Civ V and Shogun at retail when they launched and then ended up selling them (along with my Steam account since I have no computer that can run those games) to my cousin. Last PC game I bought used was the Lord of the Rings Battle for Middle Earth II (with the expansion game). But now that I think about it I'm pretty sure Shogun was tied in with Steam. But I think Civ V can be sold used.
I can see the PC going that route because PC games are going mostly digital (and when console games go that way and they can maintain cheaper prices then I am all for that). But with the next generation of consoles, we just simply aren't ready for that situation for consoles so I really doubt the 360 will be exactly like the PC as far as no used games.
