I'd go with the PS3 for now. Yes the PS4 will obviously be more powerful/polished but it won't start out with the PS3's massive library. You can find the old slim model on amazon for half the price that the PS4 is likely going to be, so I'd say run with that and wait a year or two to see how the new playstation works out.
