These days I automatically select the hardest mode upon starting a game. Never had any problem doing that until I bought Ghost of Sparta for the PSP... But, yeah, most games nowadays are child's play.
Oh, and Fire Emblem is easy if you don't care about losing your team members. Otherwise, be prepared to restart levels frequently, because after the first missions it becomes impossible to pass a level without losing one or two team members.
