If all else fails and you are even remotely capable of taking things apart and putting them back together then that's what I would do. Google "Torx T8-H Security Driver For Xbox 360 Controller". Get the driver, tear that bitch apart, clean everything real good and slap her back together. Of course taking the controller apart voids the warranty but if you in desperation mode then so what. I'm sure you can find that driver locally too.
I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.
