No not really. Kinect is an expansion upon gaming to get people who are not a fan of controllers to join in as well. They aren't dumb though and market it to hardcore fans as well. This allows people to play party games etc but plenty of games have been using Kinect + Controller and it has worked so far. I could see them doing that combination with a lot of hardcore games
