I doubt an 1800 mah battery in HTC 8x could compete with S4's 2600 mah despite the processor/OS being less battery efficient.
All other comparisons I see being fairly close. Web page loading performance and stuff like that is getting to a point with these dual core/quad core processors and LTE where it really can't get much faster no matter whats running under the hood.
