... Why not? As long as someone devotes a fair amount of time to gaming, I suppose I'd call them a core gamer regardless of the system they choose to game on. Generally I think people are better off with at least two systems per gen in order to experience as many different games as they can, but consoles can be pretty expensive. That said, there are plenty of games on just about any system for someone to devote plenty of time to if they're so inclined.
