People need to realize that not everyone has money to buy more than one console or medium on which to play their games. That doesn't necessarily mean they have any less of an interest in the games that they do own or rent (or pirate for all I know). So long as the person is a video games enthusiast and loves what he/she does enough to do it as a primary hobby, I'd say that person is part of the "core."
