Minecraft subscription service revealed and Minecraft 1.5 update goes live

Yeah this is a huge update. I've been watching the snapshots and I actually didn't play the pre-release for once... I thought the server thing was dumb, but if it's aimed at people who want a more family friendly experience, then I am all for it... you don't really see that on the web anymore.
