Maybe they are building Legends and SC4 from the same engine, to be twin games expanding the brand. ;) (I actually expect this will be a 360/PS3 game, but thought I'd throw that out there.) As long as we're talking about how Namco should make this game most successful: The profile of the Soul games was only raised when Sony, MS and Nintendo got into a feud over exclusive characters, and Nintendo ponied up Link. SCII sold over 1 million copies on each PS2 and GC. When SCIII went exclusive to PS2, it didn't sell remotely as well, probably because all the press about big-name exclusive characters was gone. Since the other games were all exclusive to one console (PS, DC, PS2) and none shipped 1 million copies, while SCII sold 3.3 million just between PS2 and GC, we know that SCII sold at least 3.5 times better than any other Soul game. So Namco should run with what made SCII such a big success. They should go nuts with the character mash-ups, in both Legends and SCIV. I'm not saying they should make Soul Kingdom Calibur Hearts but a boss fight against Ganon in Legends or an appearence by Kratos in IV for PS3 would be awesome. It'd be nice if such a great franchise had a high profile on its own, but I don't think it does.
"[Our former customers] are unable to find software which they WANT to play."
"The way to solve this problem lies in how to communicate what kind of games [they CAN play]."
Satoru Iwata, Nintendo President. Only slightly paraphrased.
