Nintendo gamers are not considered CORE gamers according to the NPD (Source included!)

This isn't clear:

Core Gamer Qualifications
In order to qualify as a core gamer, respondents had to:
• Currently play video games on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, a PC. or a Mac.
• Spend five or more hours per week gaming on any of these qualified devices.
• Play Action, Adventure, Fighting, Flight, Massively Multi-Player, Racing, Real Time Strategy, Role-Playing,
Shooter, or Sport games on any of those device


Is this respondents had to be one of the above to be 'core' or all of the above?

If it's only one then I agree. Afterall, if you only own a Nintendo console, play less than five hours per week and play only party and fitness games, then you are indeed a casual gamer.

But if you spend 20 hours on your Wii playing Brawl, Fire Emblem and Little King Story, you are definitely core. In fact a lot more core than Madden/CoD players.
