At bolded. This is where you and many others constantly fail to understand. Based on your opinions and viewpoints, there is no perceived advantage. But based on many millions of others, there obviously is.

I don't know how many times in the past I have written up very detailed responses to the ever drudging and repetitive "Xbox Live is not worth it and is not better than PSN" threads. It all boils down to Xbox Live having much better social aspects and community, much better online game performance, consistency throughout every game/experience, and just the overall quality of all the various experiences that can be had. Those experiences can easily justify a $3 monthly cost to people.

When an experience is not fun or enjoyable to an individual, it is not worth it, even if it is free. People pay for their fun/competitive/enjoyable/consistent/social experiences that they feel are better on Xbox Live than on other competing services.

I have no dispute with this. It's your opinion that match-making and cross-game chat and whatever other social features you neglected to mention are worth $100+. And I really don't take issue with the total package, it's strictly the audacity to charge for basic online multiplayer.
