29 percent are interested, while 71 percent aren't. It's a small form of hype, but not anything major. In time and closer to launch, it will build. Who knows. I was at Walmart last week and a mother was buying 3 PS3 games for her two sons. I told them, "you know Sony is releasing the PS4 this fall." The one boy didn't even know there was a PS4 announcement. The mother then said, "oh great, another console to buy." I then said, "It can't play PS3 games either." She then said, "then what's the point in buying PS3 games now?" The other boy replied, "Sony sure is stupid. Why can't the system be like the PS2?" I then told him, "It's all about the money..."

ummmm...ok.  Didn't have anything to do with completely changing the architecture?  Did you mention it would increase the cost of the system over $100?  Did you say PS3 games will still be fun and Sony will still support it for a couple more years with new games?  Man what is it with store employees these days and their anti sony agenda?  Also one boy not knowing means nothing.  I know a lot of casual gamers (COD or 2K basketball only) and they know about PS4.  It hasn't even been E3 yet.

The general public is unaware of the PS4, non-gamers per se. None of my friends at my church group know about the PS4, and they play video games. I am not a store employee, btw. I'm a teacher's assistant at a daycare
