Hmmm...look closely at the individual details of the PC version (texture filtering, anisotropic filtering, and depth of field all favor the PC version). It has nothing to do with resolution, either.

Take the top of that door - no texture at all on the PS4. There are only two areas where I can see, the average, person would instantly choose that version - the sharpness of the image and texture of that rock in the front (which is missing some shadowing, btw).

Besides, why would I not want to "admit" if the PS4 version was ahead? If it is, it is. But from this vantage point, it isn't.

Looking closely at low resolution screen grabs from a playing YouTube video isn't exactly going to help. That's part of my complaint.

And yes, I noticed that door frame in the PS4 version was for some reason lacking detail (a spot the average person would quickly see). However, everything else you mentioned looks better in the PS4 version. Especially in these limited small screenshots. The only other minor thing I see in the PC version that is better than the PS4 version is the snow affect and some slight fog affect in one area.

Overall, though, the PS4 version displays vastly better textures and lighting, just as good AA/AF, just as good depth. I think the fact that the PS4 version was running on unconfirmed preliminary hardware is also quite amazing. Probably explains the few flaws like the door frame having low textures/details. An optimized version with the final hardware set would look even better.

The results speak volumes of what optimized console hardware can achieve compared to much more expensive PC hardware.

EDIT: After looking at the original shots again and not my smaller ones, I will concede that the PC version looks to have better depth of field as well, currently.

All I needed to hear. What I pointed out, all of those features, are better in the PC version. And the YouTube vids, whether you were willing to accept them or not, clearly aid the point.

What? But I only conceded a few things to the PC version. Not all of the rest. And I was NOT talking about my small screenshots for everything. I was talking about the original (and still small/low resolution) screenshots in the OP other than for that last EDIT line. The only reason I conceded the "better depth of field" is because you can tell ever so slightly that certain things are "closer" in view. Even if that does make the PC version much blurrier and less textured... haha.

Basically all I did was reinforce what others have stated that both versions have strengths and weaknesses over the other, and the rest is mostly a matter of opinion on which version "looks" better to them. I still personally see the PS4 version as better, because of it's better lighting, better textures (in most areas), and the fact that it was obviously a rush job running on unconfirmed (and now updated) hardware. I have no doubt that a finished product version of UE4 on the confirmed PS4 specs would look quite a lot better still.

The main purpose of my comments were to those trying to claim there were "MASSIVE" differences between the two and that the PC version was miles above the PS4 in every area. Those statements were entirely inaccurate or purely opinion based. One comment even suggested the PS4 version was running on the Wii... lol come on, now!

ANOTHER EDIT: In fact, it really wasn't until someone a few posts above posted MUCH BETTER/ZOOMED IN screenshot of the PS4 version that I could start to see the differences. And you said resolution of the images had nothing to do with it.. PAH! I laugh at you :) The only reason I even began posting in this silly console vs pc thread was because the original screenshots were god awful comparisons.
