I loved the CD era for games. Many pc games and some playstation games, had their soundtrack as regular CD tracks. You could play it on any CD player, you only needed to skip track 1.
I played the Wipeout 2097 CD as many times in the CD player, then as a game. Settlers (pc) had some catchy tunes too.
Hearing the music again of a game brings back the memories much better then seeing a few screenshots. At least for games with memorable music.
