As away to detect sarcasm?  Yes.  The fact that he's pretty pro playstation made it very likely he was trying to be sarcastic.

If that was just random post by a random user he'd of been moderated.

Or at least for me it works that way.  Moderations are supposed to punish people for intentional bad behavior and trolling.

Somone screwing that up with a bad joke... is worth letting go in my opinion. (Assuming it isn't a constant anyway.)
