Music is the most important part of any game to me. I have bought games on music alone, and I have not bought games that I liked because of poor soundtrack.
I value melodic, memorable music. I hate modern film-score esque soundtracks, anyone with the mechanical skill to arrange samples on a PC can make that. I want clear and varied themes.
