Lmao! Pachter at it again. He honestly thinks the NeXbox being a TV tuner and having Skype will push it to dominance? Skype IS NOT a killer app. The PSP had it and didn't crush the DS. Also, would he care to explain how MS is going to win without Japan from the get go and the NeXbox not having a 1 1/2 year head start in EU, which has always been one of Sony's strongest territories? Unless the PS4 is completely dead in the US, which it won't be, this isn't going to happen.

Win is a relative term. In the eyes of gamers, the PS4 will probaly win next gen. But in overall sales... that's a different story. MS may very well win next gen if they can pass their next-box as a "OneBox". For every potential gamer there will be another 100 potential media comsumers who won't care about games but would buy the box for other purposes. MS is positioning itself to capitalize on that whereas Sony is after the core gamer. Personally, i'm leaning towards Sony next gen but I can see MS winning the race in overall sales alone. We may have a Wii case again, where it won in sales but not so much in "gaming."

I was refering to sales, as well.  MS doesn't stand a chance against Sony in Japan, and most likely EU, without the 1+ year head start and massive advantage in price they had with the 360.  Like I said, the only way for MS to win is if the PS4 sells like crap in the US, which it's not going to do.  MS may win the US, and possibly the UK, but they are not going to win WW or the gen.  Also, all those media consumers, as well as MS's mighty ad budgets, hasn't helped with Windows 8 sales.  It's not going to sway core gamers, either, if they choose to focus on the casual market and multimedia functions.
