I think its high price come from its small form factor and ssd. with out those the steam box has a chance at being cheaper. Hopefully a lot cheaper.

Probably. I really don't care about the size and the ssd (while very nice) is not something I desperately need. I would prefer if Valve invest on a very good GPU (that comes right out the box) than those things.
