It's not a natural step but a divergent step. It hasn't rendered controllers obsolete, at least not yet.
On topic, Killzone 3 did a very nice job with Move but I never could get Resistance 3 working well. I intend to try RE5 with it eventually. I think that's all the motion control games I own, actually.
