Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VI and VII (PS1 or PSN)
Vandal Hearts 1 and 2 if you like Strategy RPGs (PS1)
Lunar Silver Star Story Complete( might be too "anime" for you) (PS1)
Breath of Fire 3 and 4.(PS1)
Ni No Kuni is a recent good one. (PS3)
Mega Man Legends 1 and 2(not Really RPGs but adventure games with RPG elements)(PS1)
Guardians Crusade(might be too simple and slow paced for you) (PS1)
