Nintendo tried this with gamecube and gba. Some good ideas but never took off - maybe due to technology constraints or lack of resources, I dont know. Sony tried it with psp and ps3 and that fanfare disappeared like a fart in the wind.
I dont know if its lack of interest on the developers behalf of the gamers as to why this hasnt taken off before. I havnt really seen anything on offer that blows me away - just more pillow talk and promises.
