I slowly start to think people are serious.
Lets look at the 3 arguments.
EU needs money fines US Company again:
The 2 Billion MS money while slightly noticeable for Microsoft are joke amounts of money for the EU Commission. Its laughable to think EU does this to finance anything else than a few staplers for their offices. In 2012 the EU commission collects about 125 Billion Euro from all EU members to pay for the costs for running the thing. In the 15-20 years MS broke regulations repeatetly they got 2 Billion from MS and 2000 Billion from the EU Members.
The truth is they lost money processing the MS case. Ultimatly they had to invest their ressources for nothing and spend our Taxes.
2 Billion just for that ? Well there were investigations, rulings, lawyers before anybody was aware they did stuff. 2 Billion is a mere 2000 Million A lawyer costs 1 Mil or more per year and one won't suffice it must be an army and all the hearings all the paperwork all the people involved over 2 decades. But atleast there was stuff to do and people payed. No other stuff would have been investigated and who knows when they will process the rest.
So actually MS paying 2 Billions made EU poorer.
But biased EU hates MS cause they are Americans
Nope EU Commission is a Robot following rules in books. No opinions feelings and no deep motives.
There are countless "high" fines against European/Asian Companies
TV Korea/Netherlands/Taiwan recently fined 1.4 Billion for crimes commited in the 90s
Escalator Companies 3 Europe one US Billion Range fine
Siemens and others 0.75 Billion
Pharmastuff all European 1 Billion
Intel 1 Billion
European Energyfirm 1 Billion
Carglass stuff Europe 1.4+0.4 Billion
And others
MS fucked up 3 times violated rules had to pay and we pay so they make them pay.
Even if MS payed 1 Billion Dollar a day for all of eternity it wouldn't stop dept in EU from growing.
Really I would be glad if the USA Economy was strong enough to pay for EU dept but if they would attempt to do it at once It means handing over the ownership for the US Economy to the EU.
