Its obvious they prioritized the MP and the SP being a prequel is just there so that it can cater to the SP fans. It probably wont blow but it is NOT a mainline God of War game that propells anything forward (aside from the MP).

Lets be thankful they didn't actually call this GoWIV or anything. Save that for next gen with an explored MP now and something fresh that can actually top GoWIII.

I disagree.. I think Ghost of Sparta is the best SP in the series and look at the meta it got. 

Fact of the matter is reviewers are complaining due to the game being in the same setting (greek mythology) ..and having a more grounded sp campaign compared to GOW3. I absolutely loved GOW3...but not for the story. Story wise it was pretty meh

I assure you a lot will think Ascension is the best in the series. Go over to GAF and you will see a clear indication of the following =>

Lower meta scores generates a higher vocal minority that praises games

and vice versa

Higher meta scores generates a higher vocal minority that pisses on games

 

There are exceptions however :P

well you have to understand that it really is at times called for. Some of the more well rated games this gen has been rated based on hype and not the actual quality....I mean the complaints the reviewers are making are rediculous. In general the gaming media seems to be extremely jaded nowadays and it shows unless doritos are involved lol

And the meta didn't generate the opinions and you can't just dismiss them like that. Heck I don't think people thinking Ghost of Sparta is the best SP in the series is the minority at all. I think all this tells us is that there's a major disconnect between gamers and those in the media
