Seriously, when are people going to stop supporting Electronic Arts?! They MUST end these shady business practices. Seriously. They are doing more harm to gaming than good. I mean sure they have more money than God and they buy up any and and every new uber talented studio or ip so they can milk it to smithereens but WE as gamers and consumers should not reward their borderline evil business models by purchasing their products. Dead Space is the just the latest in a long line of titles that have been systematically lobotomized once EA got their hands on them. And with their movement towards microtransactions and Day 1 DLC, I think it's safe to say that EA has really lost its soul. Sometimes you get too big for your own britches and you lose sight of what made you great to begin win. EA in the 90s were LEADERS IN INNOVATION not just publishers who wanted to milk every single game dry then discard it like a piece of meat.

And don't get me started on EA Sports. And Madden. And NBA Live. Oh dear, Lord. The horror.

The sentiment is not realistic. People are never going to miss out on game they want to play just for the sake of making a point to the publisher.

Disagree completely. Support for EA has weakened each subsequent year. It's just that sadly their are a lot of uniformed gamers (usually young, whose parents buy all their games) who don't know just how remarkably evil EA's business models have become. It's out job as responsible consumers to put that info out there. I've opened the eyes of myriads of people I know about the shady business practices of EA, Microsoft, Capcom etc. etc. and they refuse to buy anymore of their games.

This will continue until they no longer have a stranglehold on the industry. No one stays on top forever. Especially when they lose their way and lose sight on what made them who they are.

Out of curiosity, what games were dying to play but didn't as a result of them being published by EA? Just asking because its easy to boycot someone when you have  no/little interest in their current line up.

Also I don't think they're what would be considered a "cancer". WHen people don't like the direction a game goes down in, they don't buy it and EA has no choice but to respond. "Dragon Age 2" and "Dead Space 3" are good examples. This is not the same a boycotting though, this is just supporting games you like and avoiding the games you dislike, the publisher is irrelevant. Remember that once you get over the propaganda of EA being the devil, you see that behind these games are in many cases passionate developers. If they produce something of quality it would be a shame not to support them just because EA the publishes it.

if they were passionate about their games they shouldn't work for a company that isn't passionate it about itself or its consumers. For my self I doubt I will buy any future EA games, so no more dragon age, deadspace, medal of honor, battlefield, mass effect, and I may even pass on bioshock too. Cant support companies lime this. The publisher is not irrelevant as they are major decisoon makers in games now as they control the money. It seems EA has gotten really good at killing promising franchises. Dead Space could of been great, instad it is seeing game over game declining sales. I hope most EA franchises see game over games losses so they rethink their strategy.
