Every time we'd briefly get separated, I got incredibly anxious and kept calling for them until we found each other again. At one point on the last level he failed to make a jump and fell off the screen, and without a second thought or knowing what was down there, I jumped right after him rather than get separated again when we were clearly so close to the summit. Pretty crazy how you can get that emotionally attached to an anonymous figure! Now, if he had ditched me in the spooky underground and I had to finish the game all by myself... yeah, I would have been super bummed. So I can see how it might differ based on the pacing of your experience. |
I played solo so that could also have influenced my emotions. Struggling up that mountain alone was both poignant and sad. Im sure with someone there with you it wouldnt have been quite as depressing.
Though the flying part afterwords was beautiful
