I never really understand the motivations behind comments such as this. Ref is doing their job (I know you'll argue he got it wrong), applying the laws of the game based on his view of the incident. Champions League of Football Conference, the referee has that job to do. He can't decide to keep cards in his pocket just because of the is the CL round of 16.
Incidentally, my opnion was it was a red, and correctly predicte dit would be when the ref was waiting for Nani to get up. Despite the lack of intent, foot was high, studs were up and he caught the player. I've seen reds given for less and not given for more, but last night felt the ref got it right.

Meh, opinions are split on it. Id have said Yellow due to the lack of intent.
Hes quite card happy and obviously likes to be the center of attention. Last night was a perfect example of that.

You are reading far too much into the situation and basing it on a single incident, which not a good way to judge someone. Is Howard Webb 'card happy' for is performance in the world cup final or did Holland just have a bunch of dirty tactics? (Its dirty tactics btw)
Overall, though the ref didn't have a great game. Althought I agreed with the red, there were a number I didn't agree with as well as a fair few incidents that he missed.
