Oh, heck no. The best games for the Wii weren't Zelda or Mario by a longshot. Metroid Prime 3 and DKCR were much better Nintendo offerings than anything those two series had to offer on the Wii.
In terms of third party games, there weren't a ton of great ones, but the Wii did have a few original gems. No More Heroes 1 and 2, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, Xenoblade...Red Steel 2 and Madworld were decent as well.
I wasn't much of a fan of Monster Hunter 3, but that's probably more of the style of game it is than anything it does particularly wrong. Although I do think the title "Monster Hunter" is a little misleading, probably should be called "Monster Hunter Gatherer Fetch Quester Earthworm Digger 3."
