You added this after I quoted you so I'm just going to comment with my predictions. I actually agree with most of yours...

I see Samsung becoming such a leader on the Android side that they eventually fork out their own version of Android, screwing Google pretty badly.

Not going to work because it's a technical solution so is immature, lacking apps, and really only for low-end phones.

A branded Android fork is the thing that will. Let's call it, Galaxy OS.
