I'm looking forward to 4K video. 1080p is enough from 11ft away on a 52" display (real 1080p, not that garbage that passes for HD on cable) but it's pretty low with a projector. I like the immersion that sitting close or a huge screen can provide, but also the clarity of a smaller display from further away. 4K should be able to do both.

I'll wait for a disc format though. I have an 80gb download limit, not enough to download even 1 4K movie, and a heavily compressed 20gb version is kinda defeating the purpose.
To keep blu-ray quality you need 4 times the average bandwidth blu-ray uses now. 35 x 4 = 140 mbps = 123 GB for a 2 hour movie. It would be nice if we also finally get 30 bit color (deep color), another 1.25x increase. (15bpp instead of 12bpp after chroma subsampling)

4K downsampled to 1080p should look very nice too. The best 1080p you can get now is still compressed 15:1 after chroma subsampling (114:1 for 5mbps 1080p streaming) and there simply is no non chroma subsampled 1080p video available atm. (color resolution of blu-ray is 960x540) 4K downsampled to 1080p should get you a lot closer to uncompressed 1080p RGB like video.

Maybe Sony will bring out a ps4 slim in 4-5 years with a 12 speed 8 layer blu-ray drive for 4K blu-ray playback. That would be a nice upgrade (instead of removing features like this gen)
