Most people don't realize how far back Sony goes, they've always been at the forefront of entertainment - movies, music, and entertainment hardware (tvs, audio gear, etc).
While there will definitely be some air let out of the tires on all of this new gen of console sales, Sony has a lot of firepower as a company overall.
