But he has a point. I've left my beard grow a few times and I've never had any itches.

What I like about beards is that *pun ahead* it grows on you whithout noticing. For example, without noticing I got the habit of touching my goatee when thinking, and once I shaved it was weird reaching for my goatee and not finding it.
