Surely there are other respectable ways to generate a revenue stream?
Far Cry 3 - A new island with new adventures available as DLC, or add friggin dinosaurs!
Gears Of War 3 - Gears of War 1 and 2 maps added to multiplayer
Witcher 2 - Enhanced Edition with added scenes (This was given for free, and the game is still selling and creating greater anticipation for the next installment)
Fifa 13 - Indoor soccer field or street soccer added via DLC
Hi Def patches of existing games for next gen consoles via DLC
Look at Bethesda with Skyrims DLC, it works!
Don't nickel and dime the gamer with micro transactions, give them a real reason to long term invest in your game or gaming franchise.
