"They wanted to not let ms have a head start this time." Exactly, when Sony heard that MS was launching the 720 soon, they didn't want to be left behind again, so they reveal the PS4 out of desperation to try to rehash the Sony of yore. Sony is like the lonely forgotten child that's flailing his arms and yearns for attention.

Of course Sony doesn't want to give Microsoft a head start again. They gave Microsoft a year headstart this gen (not to mention the massive pricetag) and have been playing catch up since. It would be the excact same thing if Microsoft let Sony have a free year on the market.

You are living in delusions if you think the Playstation brand is or should be forgotten. It's still a powerful force in the industry. Nobody here said anything about Sony doing no wrong, most Playstation fans know the PS3 had a really bad launch and was handled pretty poorly at the beginning. The PS4 has been in development for about 5 years now. It's likely both Sony and Microsoft are near the end of development and nothing said or announced this far along can be seen as a move of desperation.

I like how you say "it's competition" then call Sony a "lonely forgotten child that's flailing his arms and yearns for attention". It's apparent you'd like to see Sony out of the hardware business. Think of how much the competition would suffer if Sony disappeared. What does "rehash the Sony of yore" mean? You mean selling the most consoles ASWELL as having a large library of games? Uhm yeah, isn't that every console makers wish? It certainly should be.

The hate in you is powerful indeed.

But what about the 10 year life cycle Sony has been touting? Just recently Sony said they wouldn't launch a PS4 until consumers demanded it, you remember? Consumers haven't demanded because Google search results clearly show Xbox 720 winning. It's a desperate attempt to win over gamers hearts but gamers hearts are with Xbox now.

Rehash the Sony of yore means they're trying to bring back the good old days of the PS1 and PS2 when Sony was still relevant.

What does the 10 year life cycle have to do with anything? It's been 7 years since the PS3 launched. PS2 launched in 2000 and up until the end of last year they had still been manufactured. Releasing a new console doesn't mean the previous one all of a sudden stops. Not that it has anything to do with what we are talking about.

Google trends is not the authority in anything, but okay here.

You also can't say "gamers hearts are with Xbox now". When 90% of the world prefers the PS3. NA, due to the US, is where the 360 does really well.

Sony IS still relevant and you claiming it isn't doesn't change that fact.
