I'm sort of in the same boat. I pretty much stuck to both Nintendo and Sony back to the day and I loved games like Spyro, Jak, Ratchet & Clank, and Sly Cooper. Now the only one of those I deem to be remotely healthy is Sly.

People like to rat on Nintendo for sticking to age-old formulas, but at least they remember what made them stand out to begin with.

It's called evolution. Look at the Sony corporation and how far they've fallen. That's what happens when you refuse to keep up with the times and cling to old traditions. Look at how Nintendo had 2 failed consoles in a row with N64 and Gamecube. Nintendo is not immune. Look at Wii U sales right now, that is how Nintendo consoles sell when they have tough competition. Nintendo was extremely lucky with the Wii.
