I'm really doubting this. I could be wrong, but I don't think they even make DVD/Blu-ray players that don't support CD. I doubt it even costs that much to support it. Another reason I'm doubting this is because it's just a random tweet. Where's the article on it? And why hasn't anyone just asked Sony to confirm or deny this?
