As someone who filled out the survey, the percentage numbers aren't mutually exclusive. You select "all that apply" so the percentages don't have to add up to 100%. If everyone was working on PS3 for example and only a few (5%) were working on a WiiU title, then you'd have 100% and 5%.

Yes GDC is skewed towards indie developers, large developers are still there (I met many of them). The difference is, for example, let's say 10 people from a dev team for a particular AAA dev team go to GDC (others left in the office to work), those 10 people represent that one company. A few small indie developers with a few people, all go (let's say 3 companies with 3, 3, 4 employees, all going) also contribute 10 people to the survey. You would read "OMFG 50% of all developers are working on mobile/indie games" when really it is 10 people vs 100s (the size of the big AAA company). Equating the percentages here to "man power or developers working on a title" is misleading.

58% percent of the companies said they were working on mobile titles (not surprising, EA, Square, Epic, etc. all make mobile titles) while 11% said PS3/xbox (also not surprising, it takes very large companies to make those games).
