This applies to all games. Mario Galaxy sold over 10mil and has some of the best ratings ever, yet it wasn't talked about nearly as much as other games last gen, like Gears of War. It was only relevant to Nintendo fans (even I found it overrated).
A game's popularity on the internet is separate from its review scores or sales. People are all enthusiasts online, which is different from most of the general game-buying public. As for critics, they judge nothing but hype, or at best, short-term appeal. A game only needs to be good on the surface to net top ratings.

And that is what I am saying. People like you trash talk West games because you all feel different but you all are in the minority, not the other way around.

You misjudged me - I voted west in the "East vs West" thread, go look. I love western games, but mostly those in their... purer form (PC Master Race, yada yada)
And of course we're in the minority - we're discussing games on an online forum, it means we have more interest in games than anyone else. But guess what, people who trash talk popular Nintendo games or Angry Birds / mobile games are in the minority, too.
