Well, you don't have to be a rocket scientist to decide you want to remove the hair off your face. Have you ever felt the discomfort of facial hair? The itchiness alone drives me to go shave my face. I'm sure people thousands of years ago would have wanted to do the same thing.
I'm not gonna sit here and pretend I know the history of shaving, but I know people in the past had the same reasons to remove unwanted hair as people in the present. Whether it be for grooming purposes or removing it because of annoyances.
I mean for fuck sake they cut their hair back in the day so they had some sense of grooming and trying to look good. People weren't cave men a thousand years ago.
