Outdated thinking. Your idea was true when consoles basically ONLY played games. Consoles are getting more like PC's in that they perform many functions and have a larger OS running in the background. The hardware has to perform so many more tasks nowadays, so that console performance leap from lower specs just ain't gonna happen like it did in the good old days, when consoles JUST played games. Yes there is a performance boost, but it's getting smaller and smaller.
