Sony and MS have these things called third parties that make games for them, so they don't go through months and months of no games. 

I am aware of third parties, but they didn't exactly help the 360 and PS3 in their respective initial year. What makes you think that this new generation will have third parties come out with all guns blazing?

You can bet that every major publisher has a next gen game in the works, possibly cross gen. Add in first parties that have been preparing for these launches (as opposed to nintendo who had to bail out the 3ds instead of preparing for wiiU) and you are gonna have a big launch window for these consoles. Games likely won't dry up until the summer of 2014 and it won't be anything like the post launch drought wiiU is going through.
