Depends....because the Wii had such a similar architecture to the GC, the Dolphin (the GC and Wii emulator) was updated to play Wii games like 2 years after the Wii release. The PS2 was pretty late in it's life, not 100% sure but the first PS2 emulator was 1 year before the PS3 launch. The DS was also hacked pretty quickly, although I'm not sure when.
On the other hand we had the 360 which has not been emulated yet, but it was able to play hack games since 1 or 2 years after release (but you can't play on Live because MS somehow detects you have a modified console).
The 3DS hasn't been hack yet, but there are rumors of some hackers that were able to do it (this was just a couple of months ago I believe), so if this is true we could see a way to hack the 3DS maybe this year.
