I don't think this game is like Bayonetta.

I highly recommend this game. To every MG fan out there, and to people who enjoy hack n' slash in general. I actually don't like hack n' slash games, but hey.

It is SHORT. It's like five hours, straight from the beggining to the credits. But totally enjoyable. They respected the original content, which is nce. There are lot of things to do in this game, soy the extras may give you moar hours to play (and beating it on harder difficulties; you are encouraged to do so and there are nice rewards for doing so). The VR missions are hard as fuck (going for 1st place). There are tons of references to previous Metal Gear games. There is deep character customization, though most of it is merely esthetic. Hilarious codec conversations. Bosses that provide cool challenge without being frustrating. The cardboard box. The sounds. The BSO. Don't know, I love this game.

There are, however, tons of missed opportunities that prevent this project to really shine. There are infiltration segments, where you are encouraged to play stealthy. It is a shame, they're not abundant. Yet there is a part on which you infiltrate into a factory and have that nice old MGS style in it. Shame this only lasts 30 seconds before you find a fight the final Boss of this chapter. There is even a non-lethal playthrough available, just like Metal Gear Solid. The final boss' speech changes if you manage to achieve 0 kill count and reach him. But it is sloppy, and feel like a rushed component. And more things like these; you'll spot them if you play.

But in the overall, I will say that I loved the ride. Well worth the money; I'm playing it as I'm writing. :3
