Its not about whether or not there is a graphical leap. The leap is there, whether you want to accept it or not.
However, whether that leap makes a noticeable and perceivable visual difference to the average gamer is a completely different question. And perhaps a more important one?
I don't know.
But what i do know is that when you look at a game like Killzone shadow fall and you compare it to Killzone 3 you are indeed looking at an approximate x8 the graphical improvement.
Now was Knack, Killzone: SF, Infamous, and the Drving game the best why to show off that x8 improvement over last gen? Probably not.
But that gap is there. How devs choose to use and show that gap is up to them. If naughty dog decide to make an Uncharted 4 with a game design structured the same as the previous Uncharted games..you will see a massive difference. But what if they decide to make it a much more open game? Then you probably won't.
There are little give and takes here and there. My main point is that the gap is there and its significant. Any bigger of a gap and it would be unfeasible to fit into a console. It would also be financially unfeasible to sell at a mass market price. Whether us gamers will be able to notice the massive difference will be up to developers and how they choose to use the power of the console. And as always beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Or something like that.
