Sony has increased the cost of their system. What exactly was smart about that?

I guess you think it was smart because developers are now praising Sony, but it's not like these developers weren't going to develop for the PS4 anyway. Therefore there's no gain for Sony, but the price of the PS4 increased which will have an impact on their profitability. On the other side of the fence, developers aren't going to stop making Nextbox games because of the PS4's bigger than expected RAM. So there's no gain for Sony either.

It's smart because they're getting certain parts for cheap... It won't cost as much as you think it will.

I predict that PS4 will get good 3rd party exclusive support. Better than the 720, because of deals made (and not the deal talked about above). Sony is willing to go far to make the PS4 a success.
