It's surprising how poorly the 360 has done in Japan, despite MS' initial strong investment trying to crack that market. It's also surprising how well the 360 has held up in sales despite being virtually non-existent in the Japanese market.

Yep I am shocked the 360 has done so great after such a bad first gen and a virtually non-existent Japanese userbase. Though the way Japan is going, that'll soon be the case for all home consoles.
