afaik Sony has a patent for BR watermarking (it was brought up big time when PS3 was announced), so MS might need to pay royalties to Sony if they used that one, although there might be a chance to use a slightly different technique that has the same effect

note that what he says sounds more like hearsay than confirmed information

I get the feelign the supposedly bit was just his way of side stepping officially giving out any info. I mean we haven't had any previous rumors about nextbox and watermarked discs :S
